The Pop Profile series is a peek into the creative process of some of the most talented people making content on social media. It’s a chance for them to step out from behind the camera, into the spotlight, and let us pick their brains. This month, we’re talking with Téber about the inspiration behind his memorable, poppy content.
The magic of outsourcing for content creation is that it opens up an entire new world of creative ideas from creators who live and think outside the box. When it comes to featuring a product in a completely unique way, Téber is a pro. A couple of Gushers suddenly become the wheels of a car against a poppy pink backdrop, a container of Olly multivitamins is balanced in the hands of a multi-tasking five armed woman. He has the ability to take a seemingly mundane product and flip it on its head, creating that scroll-stopping content. Téber, like our creator community at large, brings a completely new point of view to a brand’s content.
We caught up with Téber and discussed where he finds inspiration for his other-worldly poppy content and how he has found success working with brands.
On stepping into the content creation world:
Everything started with Instagram. I posted my first image on January 1st of 2015 and posted daily until late 2017. I pushed myself to create new images everyday just to get better at my skill. Brands came naturally after I gained a following and my work was more diverse than just architecture.
Balancing between a content creator and influencer:
I consider myself both. Definitely a content creator in the eyes of a brand, but also have received comments and DM’s about the influence that my work has inspired some people to be better and see a new perspective.
Creating bright, poppy content when he needed it most:
Many places, but I was initially inspired by sadness and low self-esteem in my life. Creating images that challenge my vision to a brighter world made me push myself through hard times.
His creative process with a brand:
There’s definitely a clear process from ideation to creation from the moment I received a product or begin to understand a campaign. Ideas come up and most of the time there’s one that stands out and can have an impact for the message the brand wants to deliver.
Some sound advice on finding success as a content creator:
Meet. Your. Deadlines. Being creative is fun and also extremely challenging if you want to be different every time a new gig comes up. Creativity is a muscle, and sometimes needs to rest. It’s okay to get stuck, but it’s important to meet the deadlines to avoid delays on a campaign. Think twice before applying for a campaign.
Deciding what makes his feed:
All of my content has to be able to fit onto my social feed, because my audience is demanding. They want quality, most of them are extremely talented artists who I respect and admire. That’s why when I create anything, it has to be different to my past creations and also very engaging to the specific audience, but also keeping my artful side to every visual.
His favorite collaboration with Pop Pays:
It’s going to sound cheesy, but I’ll tell you why. All of them have been my favorite because brands let me be myself on Popular Pays. They know what they’re getting into when they accept working with me. That’s why I love this platform and I’m honored to be able to create content that can be timeless.
